In 1931, just two years after it first opened, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) held a retrospective exhibition of eight "portable murals" by Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. Eighty years later, MoMA curator Leah Dickerman has reunited five of these magnificent pieces in New York City, from their homes in public and private collections in the U.S. and Mexico. The exhibit couldn't be more timely during a time of fiscal crisis. |
